  1. i like thinking of our studies as “our studies.”

now that i thi nk about it, it’s kinda neat that we can think back to days in which blogs did not exist. i’m sure there are other things i could say the same about, that i was “there” when they weren’t around, but it’s interesting to be involved in something like that. huh.

  2. I suppose I have some of the characteristics of the dull man. I’m fairly reliable and consistent, and I do like systems. Still, I’ve been called many things, and dull hasn’t been one of them. I imagine there’s a dull man test in a woman’s magazine somewhere …

… As far as predating things, I’ve often thought about how, when I was younger, there was no Internet, no e-mail and no cell phones, among other things. Hell, even cable television was kind of a new thing back in the early years. It’s weird to think about it, but, as technology continues to advance at an exponential rate, I suppose we’re all going to predate a lot of things. The weirder thing to me would be predating a whole new global paradigm, like an ice age or something. Having memories of walks on the beach under the moonlight in a time when summer no longer exists — now that would be jarring.

  3. i would like to take this time to invite you all to go walking along an ice floe under the moonlight when the next ice age hits.

    dress warmly!
